- Recorded live at the Nice Observatory on the 14th November 1993, this CD immediately catches the eye with an impressive looking cover. Opening the sleeve reveals a black and white shot of the concert, and by the looks of the modular gear on show this release should sound as good as it looks. No Paul Haslinger on this album, so the crew is Christoph Harbonnier and Christian Wittman. Lightwave is the type of band which tends to provoke very definite views among EM fans. You either love 'em or hate 'em! Those who approach their expansive, organic soundscapes with relish will be completely knocked out by this album. It's a journey through mind and space where synthesised reference points show the way. Not a flicker of melody or a pulse of sequence is on show. Oscillating effects, rumbling sonics and wailing sirens there are aplenty. The concert must have been stunning, and when the mood takes you this is cosmic EM on the bleeding edge. Do you feel brave?
